Churchill County Released Inmate Records
A Churchill County release record answers what happened at the end of one booking. It is not the same as a current roster result. The roster or sheriff app may help determine whether the Churchill County Detention Center still lists a person, while the release, discharge, or transfer entry should show how that booking ended. A person who no longer appears may have posted bail, received release on recognizance, completed a county sentence, left under a court order, or moved to another custodian.
The operator matters. The Churchill County Sheriff’s Office keeps adult local-jail records. New River Township Justice Court and Tenth Judicial District Court hold the orders and case dispositions that can explain the legal basis for release. Nevada S.A.V.E. can report a custody event, but the state warns that its transmitted data are not official NDOC records. NDOC becomes the right source only if the person entered the state correctional system.
How Churchill County Custody Ends
Most people held at the adult detention center are awaiting bail or trial. That makes pretrial release and court action central to Churchill County release research. The facility’s disappearance from a live result proves little by itself. Read the recorded event and destination before deciding that the person is free from all custody.
| Recorded path | What it means | Next source |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or recognizance | The person leaves local confinement subject to the case and any conditions. | Sheriff release entry and court order |
| Court order or dismissal | Legal authority supports release, though jail processing may occur later. | Justice or District Court plus jail timestamp |
| Time served | The local confinement term has been completed. | Sentence and sheriff release record |
| Transfer to NDOC | The person left Churchill County but remains in state custody. | NDOC offender search and records |
| Transfer to another agency | Custody continues with the named recipient. | Receiving agency record |
Note: A transfer date marks departure from the county jail, not release into the community or the end of a sentence.
Fields in Churchill County Release Records
Churchill County has not published a field dictionary for its jail release record, so local labels should not be guessed. The sound approach is to ask for the existing booking, custody, release, discharge, or transfer record containing the facts below. The county produces records that exist; it need not create a new explanation or analysis for a requester.
| Field to request | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Person and booking identifier | Ties the event to the intended booking rather than a same-name person or another arrest. |
| Custody end date and time | Records when the facility marked that booking as ended. |
| Release or disposition code | May distinguish bond, recognizance, time served, court-authorized discharge, or another path. |
| Destination or receiving agency | Separates community release from transfer to NDOC, another jail, ICE, or another custodian. |
| Related court order | Explains the legal authority, though not always the exact jail-door time. |
| Booking photograph | May aid identity if maintained and publicly releasable; disclosure is not guaranteed. |
These fields should be read together. “Bond” may explain the basis, but the timestamp identifies when the booking closed. A receiving agency is especially important because an apparent release may actually be a transfer. A court docket can establish the order, judgment, or sentence, yet the jail record remains the stronger source for actual processing time.
Request Churchill County Release Records
The Sheriff’s Office provides a dedicated public-record request form. It accepts requests for paper, electronic, certified, or inspection access and asks for a specific description. A narrow request for one identified booking is more useful than asking staff to research a broad history.
- Give the full name, date of birth if known, approximate booking range, and booking number when available.
- Ask for the existing record showing the date and time custody ended and the recorded release or disposition code.
- Request the destination or receiving agency when the event may have been a transfer.
- Select paper, electronic, certified copy, or in-person inspection and the offered delivery method.
- Deliver, mail, or fax the form to Churchill County Sheriff’s Office, Attention: Public Records, 180 West A Street, Fallon, Nevada 89406.
The county fee policy lists standard black-and-white copies at $0.25 per single-sided page and color copies at $0.50. Storage media and postage are billed at actual cost. Personnel charges can begin after more than five aggregate staff hours. Requests by the same requester or entity within 30 days may be aggregated. When estimated cost exceeds $25, the county supplies a written estimate and requires full payment before inspection or copying.

Nevada Law and Churchill Release Records
NRS Chapter 239 supplies Nevada’s general public-record framework, including a presumption favoring access unless another law makes the record confidential. Law-enforcement records can require a fact-sensitive balancing of public access against confidentiality and other protected interests. This means a request is not a promise that every field or photograph will be disclosed.
A court file may also change what can be found. New River Township Justice Court handles misdemeanor trials and felony or gross-misdemeanor preliminary examinations. Tenth Judicial District Court handles felony and misdemeanor criminal matters and appeals. A sealed record can disappear from public access even though a booking once occurred, so a missing search result cannot establish that no custody event happened.
Correcting a Churchill County NDOC Result
The NDOC portal is useful when a Churchill County detainee entered state custody, but NDOC describes the portal as raw data that may contain errors and is not an official record. That warning creates a practical confirmation ladder. Preserve the offender number and the exact field or date at issue, then contact NDOC Family Services at 775-977-5707 for portal questions. Offender Records can be reached at omdrecords@doc.nv.gov when the matter concerns a corrections record.
For a formal result, ask NDOC for the existing release, discharge, or sentence-computation record through its public-record process. Do not ask the Churchill County jail to correct a later NDOC event, and do not use a raw data row as if it were certified. The sheriff remains responsible for the local departure record; NDOC controls the later state-custody record.
Note: Save the offender number and raw field label before seeking correction so NDOC can identify the precise record in question.
Release Starts Nevada’s Sealing Clock
Churchill County release dates can matter long after a person leaves the jail. Under NRS 179.245, a common starting point for the applicable sealing period is release from actual custody or discharge from parole or probation, whichever occurs later. Leaving the detention center while supervision continues may therefore not start the clock that a reader expects.
Once a court order is implemented, a case or related record may no longer appear in the same public search. That disappearance does not erase history by inference and does not prove that the original booking never occurred. The clerk’s official process and the governing order control public access. Independently maintained custody, notification, or corrections systems may also require their own lawful implementation steps.
Search for Churchill County Released Inmates
Begin with the last known custodian. A name alone can lead to the wrong system, especially after a transfer. Churchill County has no verified public browser feed for recent releases, but the official sheriff app advertises jail information and inmate searches. Its present fields, photo coverage, and release-history window have not been verified.
- Search the Churchill County Sheriff NV app and preserve the exact status plus the date and time checked.
- Search Nevada S.A.V.E. for the specific offender and interpret “release” differently from “transfer.”
- Call detention at 775-423-1596 and ask whether the person remains held, returned to the community, or transferred.
- Request the sheriff’s existing release, discharge, or transfer record with a focused booking range.
- Check Justice Court for misdemeanor matters and preliminary proceedings, or District Court for felony criminal cases and appeals.
- If the record names NDOC, BOP, ICE, or another custodian, continue with that receiving system.
NDOC Search for Churchill County Releases
The Nevada Department of Corrections Offender Search is the correct statewide channel when a Churchill County booking led to a state-prison sentence. It is not an archive of all county jail stays. Search by NDOC offender ID when known, or use the public name and identifier fields. A current institution means custody continued after the county transfer; a later released or discharged status concerns the state term.
| NDOC field or source | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Offender ID | Use as the stable key for follow-up and records requests. |
| Name and aliases | Compare spelling and identity details before accepting a match. |
| Current agency location | Distinguishes an institution, parole, or another recorded placement. |
| Release date and description | Documents the state release event in NDOC’s release dataset. |
| Sentence milestone fields | Calculated dates are not the same as an actual release event. |
The official search screen shows the statewide lookup’s scope. Source: NDOC Offender Search.
This screen is the bridge from a Churchill County transfer record to later Nevada state custody or discharge information, not proof of a county-jail-only release.
Churchill County Recent Release Limits
No official browser-based Churchill County 24-hour or 72-hour release list was found. The sheriff and detention pages do not define a rolling window, update schedule, retention period, or release-record fields. The official Churchill County Sheriff NV app remains a channel to inspect because the county says it offers jail information and inmate searches, but that statement does not establish a recent-release filter.
For a same-day event, preserve anything the app displays, check S.A.V.E., call detention, and request the specific record. A court order may explain why release was authorized but may not state when processing ended. The Released Last 24 Hours guide focuses on this no-feed fallback while the steps here remain the full named-person search path.
Churchill County Release Supervision
Release from a building is not always discharge from legal supervision. Parole follows release from an institution under Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners jurisdiction, while probation is a court-ordered form of community supervision. Churchill County is served through Nevada State Police Parole and Probation’s Northern Command. A county Court Services recognizance case is another distinct pretrial supervision path and should not be labeled parole.
No comprehensive public name search for all Nevada parolees and probationers was located. Verify a state-prison release through NDOC’s location and release data, review the Parole Board action when parole applies, and contact the relevant NPP office or request records. A wanted-fugitives page is not a complete supervision roster, and an old flyer must be checked for publication date.
Churchill Releases in S.A.V.E. and Federal Systems
Nevada replaced VINE with Nevada S.A.V.E. in August 2025. Older Churchill County pages still describe VINE, so current registrations and searches should begin at S.A.V.E. The system is offender-based and can follow reported moves among Nevada custody and supervision agencies. An alert is useful, but NDOC says S.A.V.E. data are not official corrections records. Confirm the event with the sheriff, NDOC, supervision agency, or court that produced it.
Federal systems apply only when case facts support them. The BOP Inmate Locator covers federal inmates and online information for people released after 1982. “RELEASED” or a past release date with no location means the person is no longer in BOP custody, though another custody or supervision status may remain. ICE’s locator can include a person released from ICE custody within the last 60 days. A county handoff under a detainer is a transfer, not community release.
Where Churchill County Release Status Lives
Each source answers a limited question. Use the system tied to the custody event rather than forcing one portal to cover every jurisdiction.
| Source | Best use | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| Sheriff app or detention line | Current adult county custody and available jail information | Absence does not identify release versus transfer |
| Sheriff release record | Local custody-end time, code, and destination | Must be requested if not published |
| Justice or District Court | Bail, recognizance, disposition, judgment, sentence, or release order | Order time may differ from jail processing time |
| NDOC offender system | State custody, state release, discharge, or parole-related status | Does not archive every county booking |
| BOP or ICE locator | Supported federal or immigration custody path | Not a general Churchill County search |
Note: Preserve the exact event word, agency, and timestamp because “release,” “transfer,” and “discharge” describe materially different outcomes.
Churchill County Release Facilities
Churchill County has two documented local detention paths, and they must not be combined. The Churchill County Detention Center is the adult county jail. An adult may return to the community or transfer to NDOC or another custodian. The Teurman Hall Youth Detention Facility is the juvenile detention component of the Juvenile Justice Center. Youth information is confidential, and release requires authorization plus a responsible adult.
No NDOC prison appears in Churchill County’s official state facility directory. A state-sentenced person therefore moves from the local jail into the statewide NDOC system. The official tribal source reviewed establishes a Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribal Court, but it does not establish a public tribal detention roster or local release feed.
Property After Churchill County Release
The adult detention handbook creates a local deadline that can matter after release or transfer. Property for a person sentenced to state prison or transported elsewhere must be released to family or friends before transport. The person is responsible for arranging that release or pickup, and Churchill County does not ship the property.
Property remaining after release is held for no more than 30 days before it may be treated as abandoned and disposed. This rule does not locate a person or prove where the person went. It does, however, make prompt contact with detention important for the person or an authorized recipient. No official source reviewed promises a family waiting area, release exit, routine ride home, or standard daily release time.
